Bobbie Renfro, Ph.D.
I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Islamorada Conservation and Restoration Education or I.CARE for short ( https://icareaboutcoral.org/ ). My current research focuses on developing novel methods for restoring coral reef sponge species and studying the ecology of restored sponges.
I completed my doctoral work at Florida State University in the Department of Biological Science in the laboratory of Dr. Janie Wulff studying the effects of water quality on Caribbean coral reef sponges.
My professional interests encompass continued research, teaching, and outreach related to tropical marine ecology, anthropogenic stressors, conservation, and restoration. My dissertation research is examining the effects of anthropogenic nutrient enrichment on Caribbean coral reef sponge assemblages.
